During the opening of the \u2018<em>Silk Road e-Commerce Day<\/em>\u2019, <em>Cui Weijie<\/em>, Vice President of the Institute of International Trade, Ministry of Commerce of China, presented the \u2018<em>Silk Road e-Commerce Cooperation and Development Report 2024<\/em>\u2019.<\/p><p>This report reveals that since 2023 <strong>the number of partner countries in the initiative has grown to 33, highlighting the key role<\/strong> that digitalisation of trade is playing in driving global growth. In addition, it emphasises that <strong>e-commerce has become a priority for countries involved in Silk Road cooperation, creating an inclusive and win-win economic development model.<\/strong><\/p><p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zeumatimpex.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/5f269052c1954f4b8b930b9bae7aeead.png\" alt=\"la Tercera Exposici\u00f3n Mundial de Comercio Digital\" width=\"1019\" height=\"642\" \/><\/p><h6><em>Source of image:XINHUA NEWS<\/em><\/h6><p>In the past year, <strong>China has signed bilateral e-commerce cooperation with the Philippines, Indonesia, Serbia, Bahrain and Tajikistan,<\/strong> strengthening e-commerce ties. As a result,<strong> cross-border e-commerce between China and these 33 countries accounted for 30% of the country&#8217;s total e-commerce imports and exports,<\/strong> with <strong>significant growth<\/strong> in 23 of these markets.<\/p><p>Today, <em>\u2018Silk Road\u2019 e-commerce<\/em> has established itself as a key element in the construction of the \u2018<em>Belt and Road Initiative<\/em>\u2019 with a focus on high quality. Through the development of cooperation mechanisms, collaboration among participating countries has been promoted, strengthening communication, mutual trust and the sustained growth of digital trade.<\/p><p>China has leveraged its vast market capacity, combining its industrial and geographical advantages with the business needs of its partners to foster closer cooperation in e-commerce. Examples of this collaboration<strong> include Alibaba International Station<\/strong>, which supports the digitisation of global trade, and<strong> Cainiao<\/strong>, which facilitates the expansion of Chinese brands in international markets.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The report also highlights that e-commerce, as a fundamental component of the <strong>digital economy<\/strong>, is experiencing accelerated growth and <strong>has become a key driver of global economic development.<\/strong><\/p><p>In the future, <strong>e-commerce will continue to play a central role in global economic cooperation<\/strong>, contributing to bridging the digital divide between countries, improving social welfare and building a global digital community.
