Preparations underway for the Seventh China International Import Expo (CIIE) in China

We are just 100 days away from the seventh China International Import Expo (CIIE), which will be held from 5 to 10 November. This event, the first in the world to be dedicated exclusively to imports, reflects China’s commitment to high-level openness and its intention to share its market with the rest of the world.

In its six previous editions, the CIIE has become a key window for China’s development, a platform for global opening and a shared resource for the international community. On 24 July, at a press conference, the organisers shared major developments and news for the next edition, highlighting new global partnerships and major milestones.

Expanding International Participation

This year, the CIIE will expand its reach with a global promotional campaign that includes travelling exhibitions and the collection of inspiring stories. With the participation of more than 50 countries and international organisations, including Norway, Benin, Burundi and UNICEF, the event promises to be a showcase of cultural and economic offerings, reinforcing bilateral cooperation and strengthening ties with China.

Fostering Global Innovation

The CIIE is a unique opportunity for companies to showcase their latest innovations to the Chinese market.

According to Bernd Wagner, CEO of WS Audiology China, participating in this event is key to connecting with local consumers. In previous editions, companies from 173 countries have generated more than USD 424.23 billion in transactions and launched more than 2,400 products and technologies.

The 2024 edition will feature for the first time a section dedicated to new materials, highlighting technological innovations. In addition, the exhibition will include advances in autonomous driving and new energy solutions in the automotive section, as well as products for the “silver economy” in the health and elderly care section.

Promoting Inclusive Globalisation

The seventh Hongqiao International Economic Forum (HQF), which will be held in parallel with the CIIE, will address topics such as artificial intelligence, new energy storage, industrial growth and sustainability, with a focus on promoting inclusive economic globalisation. One of the key moments will be the launch of the World Openness Report 2024, which will provide analysis and recommendations to promote a more inclusive global economy.

More than 30 companies, including L’Oreal and Jaguar Land Rover, have already booked their space for the 2025 edition.

Séptima Edición de la CIIE en China

The CIIE remains an essential platform for companies, countries and organisations to showcase their achievements, strengthen new partnerships and contribute to a more prosperous global economy,”said Sun Chenghai, Deputy Director General of the CIIE Office.
