This year, the CIIE has expanded the participation of local buyers, with 780 delegations attending, the highest number on record. China State Construction Engineering Corporation, for example, plans to sign strategic agreements with companies such as Hitachi and Schneider Electric, with an increase of up to 20% in purchase amounts over the previous year. Also, online shopping platforms such as Dewu have taken advantage of the event to launch new “new Chinese trend” collections, with the intention of bringing international brand products to the young Chinese consumer.
In each edition, the CIIE reflects the advancement of emerging sectors and global technological innovation. In 2019, the exhibition areas were revamped, and specialized sections on artificial intelligence and agricultural seeds were introduced in 2022. This year, for the first time, the exhibition focuses on digital economy, sustainability, life sciences and advanced technology, bringing together more than 2,500 innovative products, services and technologies.
